Picking Myself Up and Moving On...

Well, its been a shitty past 4 months personally and the lows have far outweighed the highs. My family has suffered greatly and even though some things are still a work in progress - I believe we all seem to be in a much better space right now.

During this time (since Nov 18) I haven't take any Duromine and my weight HAS fluctuated especially over Christmas. At one stage I did get back up to 85kg, but because of the new habits I had worked hard to implement (talking about choosing more healthy foods and giving up sugar) I was able to get my weight back down without the help of Duromine.

My last weigh in saw me at 83kg (Day by Day thread post #180 - 9th Nov 18) and when I jumped on the scales on Monday morning the 11th of March I was 82.5kg exactly. Not a huge loss over 4 months, but with everything that has happened I still see this as a major success. It's the same with my measurements. I lost a total of 5" or 12.7cm all over (will list them in a later post either here or on my thread for accountability) and again not a huge drop but I am really proud of myself for getting back on track.

I truly believe if I hadn't started changing my habits whilst on Duromine that I would be up to around 90kg's now, as I tend to comfort eat when things are stressful, and boy has it been a stressful!

A newer change is that for the last 3 weeks my family and I are slowly changing our way of eating. We are now implementing a ketogenic diet. This is due to numerous things, but two of the main reasons are my daughters. My eldest girl at only 20 years of age has high blood pressure (hereditary) but with her last blood test also saw a result in high cholesterol. My youngest (her 18th birthday this Sunday) suffers from an extreme anxiety disorder, where we have been loath to put her on any medication due to sedative properties. We have been implementing a vitamin routine and visualisation exercises that we received from her psychologist, but diet was definitely on the list (for them both!).

With the help of my GP I have done a huge amount of research on Keto, and with her blessing we have started to slowly implement the changes. Next week will see us fully keto, with no sugar or alcohol and under 20 grams of carbs per day. It most definitely will be a change from calorie counting everything that's for sure! I also plan on giving up alcohol for the next 8 weeks. We are booked in for blood tests then so it will be interesting to see.

I am using the rest of this week to prep and plan my exercise, food choices and things for my daughters 18th. I will resume Duromine on Monday next week as (I have just under a months worth left over) and I am hoping my GP will prescribe me at least another 2 months when I visit next week.
