MY TURN AROUND POINT WAS.....

Well where to start this one?

I've been picking up weight for the last 10 years now.
In those 10 years I've had 3 gorgeous little kids and started to take more care of everyone else than I was myself.
The other day my 5 year old asked me: "Mommy why are you so big?" I couldn't answer him and my heart was in pieces.
So I decided to start a journey of weight loss as I want my children to be able to be proud, my husband himself grew up with a morbidly obese mother and it had terrible effects on him seeing her struggle with everything everyday.

I don't want that life for myself nor my family it's not fair to them.
So that's my story...

Hi Ally-cat,

My story is very similar, I don't have small kids anymore, I only have 1 son, he is 10 now, and I started noticing him gaining weight and not being interested in sports anymore. One day I had a chat to him about it, and he said that if Mommy is "fat" why can't I be like that too? How do you reason with a 10 year old about weight? So I decided there and then, that I would show him and prove to him, that I can change, and doing so, help him to change as well. Kids do exactly what they see, and by showing our kids how to eat healthy and exercise, we will be helping them to be all they can be, without the fear of weight (especially if you have girls). My son has now started watching what he eats as well, and exercise is so much fun, because we do it together! Hubby has also started joining in....so my house has made a complete 360 turn around in just a few months.
You will see, once the weight starts coming off, how soon the little ones pick up on it, and honestly, there is nothing more rewarding, than getting a hug from your child, and hearing that he/she can see that you have lost weight, or they make such a small silly comment (Ruben said that he can fit his arms around me with ease now), but that small comment, has been my inspiration on days I wanted to give up.
Good luck with your journey, and remember, we are all here for you if you need encouragement, or just need to vent, and remember to post your progress, so that you can be an inspiration to others as well!
