I think I over did it :(

:eek: Since yesterday I have been in acute pain.
I have done something to my lower back and it has meant I am barely able to move at all. Even sleeping is difficult as every time I move or try to roll over, I am woken in pain.
I think it is all the exercise I have been doing. The Bike riding is ok but the treadmill is the cause of my back injury (I think). Hubby now tells me I should put the treadmill on a small incline as when it is flat it slips occasionally. Yep... found that out the hard way.
I am dosed up on nurophen and hoping that it subsides enough by tomorrow that I can sit at the computer and do my homework assignment that is due next week.
I have been stuck on the sofa all day today. Just getting up to go to the bathroom is an event.
Today would normally be my big housework day as I have school Mon/Tue/Thur. I have been looking at the floors and all the mess but not been able to do anything about it.
PLEASE CAN I BE BETTER TOMORROW????

Pain means your exercises work! Sorry you have to suffer, but the good thing is that now you know for sure what is good and what's bad for you. I always say that a treadmill is just a warm up solution, not for long-term exercises. Get well, Smick and I am sure you will feel better tomorrow, just make sure you do some light exercise (stretching) to eliminate that pain (I know that sounds contradictory but post-exercise pain goes away the next day if you do some light gymnastics over it) :)

oh dear !! SO sorry to hear this, nothing {besides birth pain } is as bad as a lower back strain for sure !!..not just painful but frustrating too, especially when one needs to clean the house and has a schedule planned , it becomes a mind game, I agree with Shelly , the house work can wait, a little longer, a water bottle or hot ,or cold pack works wonders on the lower back ,relaxes the muscles ,especially when u sleeping, and when you sitting doing your assignment, but must agree with Kate, stretching is the best way to recover quicker without anymore injury ,I would like to recommend sciatic stretches too you, they work wonders for lumber /lower back muscle, or nerve injury..... Just a small tip about the treadmill work out that I learned from Pilates , I am doing incline intervals, for cardio ,fat loss on my treadmill, and I naturally have weak lower back muscles, due to my lovely "muffin top " so I find that when I am on an incline I SUCK MY TUMMY IN while doing it.. and it helps strengthen my core and stabilizes my lower back, WHICH PREVENTS INJURY, it just keeps you centred ...All the best, may you recover soon , and keep going you doing so well , GO ..GO ..GOAL !!.. Take care ..

Hi Smick, how are you ??

Hi Leigh.
I've been pretty blah.
My back pain left me almost motionless till yesterday. I was on some pretty hard core pain killers so no Duromine for me. This week has been a write off as far as diet and exercise. I am dreading hopping on the scales this morning.
Good news is the pain is going away. Yesterday I was almost back to normal. Deciding if I should start taking the D again or keep off it for another 10 days so I can do my blood tests. Decisions..... Decisions. Will probably keep taking the D. I'm not doing great without it. Next 10 minutes will tell. I'm about to hop on the scales.

Yikes!
Put back on the weight I lost last week. Back to 105.4.
Back on the D for now.
At least I will be able to do some exercise. Just will try not to over do it this time.
