First Month

Hi Em 7 kg is a great loss congrats I can't help with the 30 mg info as I have been on the 15 mg and as of my last weigh in I had lost 18.8kgs so I'm really happy ... I hope you feel better soon

I have never been on the 15mg BUT I was on the 30mg, thought it would be a good idea to try 40mg and fairly swiftly went back to the 30mg. The side effects were too severe and I was losing on the 30mg so I figured that it was better to stay there. I felt extremely edgy and stressed on the 40mg. My throat felt like I was getting a cold and I had to suck on lozenges at night. I also had headaches.
After a chat with my endocrinologist on Friday, I would suggest sticking with the smallest dose you can. He says that after a while the D stops being effective and you need to up the dose. That is why you generally can only get 3 or 4 months at a time. Then if you have a year off and go on it again you may need to be on a higher dose. So.... keeping the higher doses up your sleeve can be a benefit. I'm glad now that I did not start on the 40mg like my GP initially suggested. Nowhere to go from there.
Everyone is different though. You might be lucky and have no side effects.
