Frying itself isn't a bad thing its what you use with in that is the issue. Its all about smoke points. Use the right fat for what you are doing and you will be fine.

You sound like you have a great plan of attack and are doing well with the exercise. Just watch how you are feeling when you do the shakes. Technically shouldn't do any full on exercise because you aren't giving your body the calories it needs to do it. Just see how you go though.
